What's New at Your Library Architect NeededThe Board of Trustees of the Shorewood-Troy Public Library is requesting qualifications from architects for the design of a new facility (dependent on the successful passage of a referendum). + More Info Board Meeting Date Changes At the April 12th board meeting, the monthly meeting dates for the Library's Board of Trustees were changed for June and July 2012. The new board meeting dates are:
Pinnacle Library Cooperative Making it easy to find books, DVDs, CDs - all the different kinds of things that the Library offers for checkout - is one of the most important things we do as a library. We are happy to announce that we are working to debut a new catalog this summer that will make things even easier to find. The new catalog has a much better search engine, and lots of cool features. We are making this possible by joining with five libraries near us: the Plainfield Public Library, the Joliet Public Library, the Fountaindale Public Library, the White Oak Public Library, and the Lemont Public Library. This new group of libraries, called the Pinnacle Library Cooperative, will replace the PrairieCat consortium. This new group is smaller, but mighty! It's a nimble group of libraries all working very hard to provide the very BEST service we can to our patrons. For example, our libraries, together, own approximately 1 million items. Plus, we're still connected to other libraries in our nation. If our library doesn't have an item, or our Pinnacle partners don't, we can still access other libraries' collections for you.
